Manufacturing Operations and Maintenance

At a box plant, floor operations typically consist of the following departments: corrugator, converting, shipping, maintenance, tooling and general labor. Job title examples are corrugator operators, roll clamp operators, flexo folder gluer operators, rotary die cutter operators, press operators, finishing operators, shipping clerks, maintenance technicians, die mounters, and more.

Role examples include operating and monitoring various chemical and mechanical processes, operating heavy equipment, performing process and product quality assurance testing, optimizing controls, performing maintenance and more. Manufacturing leaders then manage or supervise employees, operations and processes on the floor.

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all machinery utilized to support the operations as well as maintenance of the physical plant facility.

Machine Operator

Machine operators are responsible for assisting in all activities associated with safely running industry equipment, including setup, operation and cleanup.

Production Associate

Production associates are responsible for assisting in all activities associated with safely running industry corrugated converting equipment, including setup, operation and cleanup.

Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance Supervisors are responsible for the management of the maintenance department and the overall maintenance of all machinery and the facility. They provide secondary management support to the plant management team, serve as mentors and trainers to the hourly maintenance associates, and provide secondary supervisory assistance to the production team.

Maintenance Leadman

Maintenance Leadmans provide secondary management support to the plant management team.  They serve as mentors and trainers to the hourly maintenance associates, and provide direction and constructive criticism to ensure all associates are following safety and maintenance procedures. They also balance daily functions and provide support to the maintenance team. 

Production Shift Supervisor

Production Shift Supervisors are responsible for the day-to-day management of the production floor though supervision, development and training of the production team. They are also responsible for the efficient movement of product through the plant with a focus on quality and timeliness.

Forklift Driver

Forklift Drivers are responsible for loading, unloading, stacking and staging corrugated products and materials in a safe and timely fashion.

Machine Helper

Machine Helpers are responsible for assisting in all activities associated with safely running our corrugated converting equipment, including setup, operation and cleanup.

Die Mounter

Die Mounters are responsible for the repair, cleaning and troubleshooting of dies.
