The International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF) is reinforcing its commitment to developing the next generation of packaging professionals through scholarship investments at colleges and universities nationwide. As part of this effort, ICPF is proud to recognize University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic packaging students Ava Franco and Elliott Hoppa, who recently received ICPF scholarships in support of their packaging education and career aspirations.
Through its scholarship initiative, ICPF has pledged to provide up to $5,000 annually to participating colleges and universities to support students pursuing packaging and related degrees. As a result of ICPF’s partnerships with university faculty, these scholarships recognize students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership potential, and an interest in careers in the corrugated packaging industry.
“Investing in students is one of the most meaningful ways we can strengthen the future of the corrugated packaging industry,” said Caitlin Salaverria, President of ICPF. “Through scholarships and partnerships with universities like UW-Stout Polytechnic, we’re helping talented students continue their education while encouraging them to explore the many rewarding career opportunities available in our industry. We’re proud to recognize Ava and Elliott and support them as they work toward their goals.”
Ava Franco, a packaging major at UW-Stout Polytechnic, is passionate about developing innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. She is committed to building a career in packaging and gaining the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful impact in the field.
In her scholarship acknowledgment, Franco expressed how the financial support will help ease the burden of educational and living expenses, allowing her to focus more fully on her studies and professional development.
“This scholarship will have a significant impact on my college journey,” shared Franco. “Your support enables me to continue working toward my goals with less financial stress, and I am truly thankful for that.”
Elliott Hoppa, also a packaging major at UW-Stout Polytechnic, is pursuing a career in packaging with aspirations of working in packaging design. Throughout his college experience, Hoppa has demonstrated a strong work ethic while balancing his academic responsibilities with employment and community involvement.
In his scholarship acknowledgment, Hoppa expressed his gratitude for the recognition and his hope that receiving the award will inspire other packaging students to persevere through challenges and continue pursuing their goals.
“The Polytechnic Advantage comes to life through partnerships like this. ICPF’s investment helps empower students to engage in applied learning and research experiences, build meaningful industry connections and develop the knowledge and skills needed to lead the future of the packaging industry. We are grateful for ICPF’s commitment to UW-Stout Polytechnic, our students and their success,” said Nic Katona, Vice Chancellor for University Advancement & Alumni Relations / Executive Director, UW-Stout Polytechnic Foundation & Alumni Association.
ICPF’s scholarship investments are part of a broader commitment to strengthening packaging education and building connections between students and the corrugated packaging industry. Through scholarships, equipment donations, educational sponsorships, and career-focused programming, the foundation works with colleges and universities nationwide to expand educational opportunities and introduce students to the diverse careers available in corrugated packaging.
The partnership with UW-Stout Polytechnic reflects ICPF’s continued focus on supporting institutions that prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to succeed in the packaging industry.
ICPF looks forward to continuing its partnership with UW-Stout Polytechnic and expanding scholarship opportunities for students at colleges and universities across the country.
