Why should I apply?
This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in machinery and manufacturing to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a stable, well-paid, career-minded industry. ICPF’s scholarship is intended to provide financial support to students while they pursue a career pathway working with sustainable products in corrugated packaging. And you’ll be participating in a PAID internship that can lead to full-time employment and a long-term career at a leading manufacturer in your area.
Who can apply?
Any student over the age of 18 who is pursuing an associate’s degree in one of the following pathways: Advanced Automation and Robotics Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Production and Operations, SMART Manufacturing. Manufacturing-related experience is a plus.
What Ivy Tech campuses are participating in this workforce degree program?
Students on any Ivy Tech campus that are pursuing a co-op/internship with a corrugated packaging manufacturer can qualify for funding.
What classes should I be taking to prepare for my internship?
Students pursuing advanced manufacturing coursework in one of the following areas of study should be well prepared to begin working as a machine operator or maintenance technician on the plant floor: Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Production & Operations, and SMART Manufacturing. To receive credit for your work at a partnering company, Ivy Tech students will also need to enroll in a 3 credit hour co-op/internship course (INDT 180).
