Earn a $3,000 Scholarship: ICPF will give the financial support you need to fund your tuition, books, and personal travel expenses.

Paid Internship Opportunity: You’ll get paid to explore a career in corrugated packaging and gain hands-on experience with a leading manufacturer in your area. Make Progress toward an Ivy Tech Degree: The scholarship funds 19 credit hours over two semesters toward an Ivy Tech associate degree in one of the following programs: Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Production & Operations, and Smart Manufacturing.

Is interested in a manufacturing-related career and/or coursework.

Is located near Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Lake County, South Bend, or Valparaiso, Indiana. ICPF will connect students with a box plant in your area.

Is 18 years of age or older at the time of their internship.





This is a great 1-year opportunity for students who are interested in machinery and manufacturing to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a stable, well-paid, career-minded industry. Classes are paid for, which gives you valuable knowledge to highlight on job applications and when negotiating pay. And you get a PAID internship that can lead to full-time employment and a long-term career. 

Any student over the age of 18 who has completed Key Principles of Advanced Manufacturing (ADMF 101) with a C grade or better can apply. 

The workforce degrees are for machine operators and maintenance technicians.

Currently, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Lake County, South Bend and Valparaiso campuses are participating in the workforce degree program. Students will need to take the classes at those locations to receive the scholarship funding. 

After completing the 1-year workforce degree program, you’ll have: 

  • Industry experience to highlight on job applications and when negotiating pay. 
  • A certificate to give you a leg up while applying for jobs in the corrugated packaging industry. 
  • 19 credit hours toward an Ivy Tech associate degree in one of the following programs: Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Production & Operations, and Smart Manufacturing.  
  • Potentially, a full-time job offer from a corrugated packaging manufacturer. 

Each workforce degree pathway includes 19 credit hours of coursework that can be applied towards an associate’s degree in one of the following areas of study: Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Production & Operations, and SMART Manufacturing.

  • INDT 180 – Co-op/Internship at box plant
  • IVYT 171 – Leadership Seminar (1 credit)

  • INDT 113 – Industrial Electrical
  • INDT 203 – Machine Maintenance & Installation
  • INDT 211 – Industrial Process Control & Implementation
  • INDT 180 – Co-op/Internship at box plant
  • IVYT 171 – Leadership Seminar (1 credit)
